Can my computer run Assassin’s Creed Unity?
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity released in 2014 and is set in the beautiful city of Paris, France. Follow the story of Arno during the French Revolution as he exposes the secrets surrounding it. The developers took special care when adding historical landmarks such as the Eifel Tower and even Notre Dame. In support of the tragedy that struck Notre Dame recently, Ubisoft is giving Assassin’s Creed Unity away for free to keep forever. There is even a place to make donations to help with the restoration efforts. You can play Assassin’s Creed Unity with a friend in co-op mode as well so it is important to make sure that both of your computers pass the system requirements.
For a five year-old game, the minimum system requirements are still a bit on the high side so a decently strong computer is needed. Explore the stunning city on at least Low settings by having at least a GeForce GTX 680 or a Radeon HD 7970. In addition to needing to pass the video card requirements, your PC needs to be above the CPU requirement as well. The developers set the minimum CPU requirement at the Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz or AMD FX-8350. These minimum system requirements are unusually high, even compared to the newer Assassin’s Creed Origins, they are still much higher. If your computer is on the lower end of the spectrum of PCs in the green, you will probably need to adjust some of the graphics settings in order to play at a good FPS.
The recommended system requirements follow a similar trend - the 2014 title has higher requirements than the 2017 title, but that doesn’t mean Assassin’s Creed Unity is unplayable on older PCs. However, they are still slightly lower than the recommended system requirements for another popular open-world game, Far Cry 5. With regards to your computer’s video card, you’ll need at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290X. Ubisoft notes that laptop versions these cards may work as well, but are not officially supported. Once you have that taken care of, your PC should also have at least an Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz for your CPU.
So if your computer passes all of these system requirements for Assassin’s Creed Unity, then you should expect a great experience while playing on max settings!
