Can my computer play Detroit: Become Human?
By Cliff Henjum November 19, 2019:
The popular game from Quantic Dream, Detroit: Become Human, now has an official PC release date of December 12, 2019. This is the same studio that brought you Beyond: Two Souls back in 2013, which is another title that made its way to PC recently. Detroit: Become Human is set in the year 2038 and technology has evolved so much that human-like androids are now part of society in a servant-like capacity. This third person adventure game is driven heavily by the dialogue choices and in-game decisions you make and plays out almost like a movie. Prepare to follow the story of three unique androids on PC very soon, but in order to do that, you will need a computer that passes the system requirements test.
Detroit: Become Human has very passable minimum system requirements so hopefully that means a lot of PC users will get to experience this masterpiece that was nominated for three separate awards at last year’s The Game Awards. For your computer’s video card, you’ll need at least a GeForce GTX 660 or its AMD equivalent, which is roughly a Radeon HD 7870. Those GPU requirements are pretty run-of-the-mill for minimum requirements these days - just take a look at another popular game like Void Bastards. Quantic Dream asks that you have at least a Core i5-2400 for your CPU if you want to play Detroit: Become Human on PC. You will only need 2 GB of RAM which is surprising because most modern games require at least 4 GB of RAM.
There is a massive jump when moving from the minimum specs to the recommended specs for Detroit: Become Human which should signify a vast variety of graphics options and sliders to curate the best experience possible on a wide range of rigs. At the GPU spot, players will need at least a GeForce GTX 1080 or its AMD equivalent (roughly the Radeon RX 480). The CPU requirement is a bit more manageable in comparison - only an Intel Core i7-2700K or the AMD equivalent is needed. As long as your CPU and GPU surpass those models, and you have at least 8 GB of RAM, you can expect to play Detroit: Become Human with the graphics turned all the way up while maintaining a high frame rate.
