Can you run Temtem?
By Cliff Henjum January 29, 2020
A new MMO-Creature Catching/Battling game called Temtem recently released into Early Access on Steam. It’s being developed by a new company called Crema, and so far, their responsiveness to the community has been fantastic! Because of its similarities to the popular franchise, Pokemon, PC gamers all over the world are asking if their computer or laptop can run it. The game begins like any other Pokemon game - you obtain your first Temtem from an esteemed professor like mentor and begin your journey across the Airborne Archipelago on a quest to catch and raise more Temtem. Your childhood rival, Max, is also on the same path and will continually try to battle you. Temtem has a unique twist to it in addition to the MMO-aspect: all battles will allow for TWO of your Temtem to be on the battlefield at once. 2v2 battles enable some awesome tactics by giving you the option to build synergistic squads where one Temtem can greatly increase the effectiveness of its partner in battle. So grab your starter Temtem, find that powerful Ganki, and prepare your PC for an epic journey into the Temtem world by at least passing the minimum system requirements test.
The minimum system requirements for Temtem are on the lower side so players with cheaper or older computers will hopefully be able to run it. Crema has set the minimum video card requirement at the GeForce GTX 650M which means that even some laptop users will be above the minimum requirements. Your computer will also need a dual-core CPU that is equal or above a Celeron Dual-Core G530 which is roughly equivalent to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3400+. At the time of writing this, 4 GB of system RAM is also needed to get Temtem running on at least low settings. Its simple graphics style and smaller world allow it to have much lower system requirements than the other powerhouse MMO, World of Warcraft. This setup will allow you to play Temtem at 720p at 30 FPS. You may wish to display your shiny new Luma with some higher graphics however. If that’s the case, then your computer needs to pass the recommended system requirements.
Temtem’s recommended system requirements are naturally higher than its minimum specs, but they are still passable if you have a modern gaming PC. Laptops that are not designed for gaming will struggle to max the game out in its current state, but that may change during development. A computer will need a nice and beefy GeForce GTX 970 or its AMD equivalent, the Radeon R9 290, to get above the recommended GPU test. The CPU requirements are currently set at an Intel Core i3-6100T and an AMD Phenom II X2 521. You’re almost on your way to cruising around Indigo Lake with your perfect SV Pigepic, you just need to make sure your PC also has 8 GB of RAM. This setup will enable you to run it at 1080p and at 60 FPS.
