Can my computer play Need for Speed Heat?

By Cliff Henjum October 19, 2019:

It’s time to start getting those engines (and computers) ready because the official system requirements for Need for Speed Heat just released! The upcoming Need for Speed game is set to release on November 8, 2019 so there is still time to prep your PC for some sweet racing. It has been two years since Need for Speed Payback came out, but the system requirements have only changed slightly in that time period when comparing the two games. If you want to play Need for Speed Heat on PC, then you will need a computer that at least passes the minimum system requirements test.

Passing the minimum system requirements test for Need for Speed Heat means that your PC will be able to run it on at least Low Graphics with solid FPS. The developers set the minimum required GPU at the GeForce GTX 760 and the Radeon R9 280X/Radeon HD 7970. EA and Ghost Games decided that you will also need at least an Intel Core i5-3570 or an AMD FX-6350 for your CPU. In addition to the GPU and CPU requirements, your computer should also have at least 8 GB of RAM. All in all, you will need a decent computer with hardware that isn’t much older than a few years to play Need for Speed Heat.

The recommended requirements for Need for Speed Heat are fairly standard when you look at other games releasing this quarter like The Outer Worlds. If you want to zip around Palm City with eye-popping detail, then you will need a computer that passes the recommended requirement test. The CPU requirement is pretty steep - EA set it at the Core i7-4790 and the Ryzen 3 1300X. When it comes to your video card and Need for Speed Heat, racers will want at least a Radeon RX 480 or a GeForce GTX 1060 to really play the game at its full potential. Don’t forget to also have 16 GB of RAM in that rig and it will be all lights green for you come launch day!
